Isolation Transformer Manufacturing

An isolation transformer has input and output windings that are electrically separate from each other. By providing galvanic isolation it reduces the risk of electric shock, limits noise from the grid and protects sensitive equipment.

In safety-critical, wet, medical and sensitive-electronics environments, an isolation transformer is often a requirement rather than a choice. Because the output circuit is separated from the grid, it protects against earth faults and common-mode noise.

ONS Enerji manufactures single- and three-phase isolation transformers to the voltage ratio and power you need. Optional electrostatic screening, insulation class and enclosure are defined by project specification.

How does it work?

Two separate windings sit on a common magnetic core. Energy is transferred between windings only through the magnetic field; there is no direct electrical connection between input and output.

This separation prevents a person on the output side from forming a current path between earth and the mains, reducing shock risk. An electrostatic screen between the windings further reduces the passage of high-frequency noise.

How to choose the right unit

  1. Define whether the goal is safety, noise filtering or voltage conversion.
  2. Confirm input/output voltage, phase count and total load.
  3. State special area standards such as medical or marine up front.
  4. If noise is the issue, ask about an electrostatic screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

01What is an isolation transformer used for?

It separates input and output electrically, reducing the risk of electric shock, limiting grid noise reaching equipment and protecting sensitive devices.

02Does an isolation transformer regulate voltage?

No. An isolation transformer does not stabilize voltage; it only provides isolation. If voltage fluctuates you need a regulator. Combined solutions can also be built.

03Do you manufacture three-phase isolation transformers?

Yes. We build single- and three-phase isolation transformers to custom power and voltage values.

04What should I consider when selecting an isolation transformer?

Specify the purpose (safety, noise or conversion), voltage and phase data, total power, operating environment and any relevant area standards.
